Two Droids in an Escape Pod….

Our newest podcast is up and ready for your eager ears!

C3PO and R2D2, the comic relief of Star Wars: A New Hope, are integral to the plot line.  R2D2 has a vital piece of technology that he needs to get to a guy named Obi Wan Kenobi. Marty McFly and Doc utilize a car made into a time machine to get to the future in Back to the Future. The Ghostbusters rely heavily on their proton packs. All classic examples of how fictional humans utilize technology to its full potential. Whether its to deliver an important message, save the existence of being, or saving New York City from ghosts they are all using technology in a positive way.

So why won’t teachers let students utilize their technology to improve their understanding of concepts?

Raj Dhingra has a good Ted Talk on technology changing education that I have inserted below.

Lance and I dive into our new adventures in the classroom and how we are starting to capitalize on the use of technology in the classroom. Letting students further their literacy with class blogs, addressing hesitancy when it comes to it from both sides (student and teacher), testing out different tools that we have not used in the past.

We also reflect on our interview with Jamie Mayoh-Bauche, connectivism, and the presentation by Dave Cormier.

Without further stalling here is episode #3!
